We use only Pyranha insecticides that are specially formulated for automatic spray systems. For over 50 years, Pyranha has been the premier provider of products for mosquito and fly control. The insecticides are based on natural Pyrethrum, derived from certain species of the chrysanthemum plant. Combined with the Pyrethrum is an additional pyrethroid called Permethrin. Permethrin provides a broad spectrum of insect control and has low mammalian toxicity, in the class of Pyrethrum. Like Pyrethrum, Permethrin is biodegradable; however, it is more stable in sunlight and does not break down as rapidly as Pyrethrum.
The combination of Pyrethrum and Permethrin creates a superior product. The Pyrethrum results in a quick knockdown and kill of the insect; the Permethrin provides residual killing and repelling of the insect, a long-lasting characteristic that inhibits re-infestation. Pyranha insecticides also contain Piperonyl Butoxide. Piperonyl Butoxide alters the penetration of the insecticides and decreases the time required for affect on the insect's central nervous system, resulting in elevated killing effectiveness. Piperonyl Butoxide also aids in the battle against development of resistance of the insect to the insecticide.
